Russell Street Gallery is located on the historic Davis Block, in the original Elliott Neighborhood of North Portland. Artist in Residence, Nick Fluge chose the location for its natural, industrial setting, which compliment the raw textures of his original work.
The gallery currently features local Artist in Residence, Nick Fluge, whose work includes oil on canvas, ceramic painting and Biot glass art. Other artist's are on display, including the famed 1950s pin-up master, Earl Moran. Moran's recently unearthed original; "Monroe in Paradise" will be presented through Summer, 2009. Moran worked with Norma Jean (better known as Marilyn Monroe). Together they were responsible for numerous Mid-Century Pin-up and Pop Art presentations. Playboy magazine recently featured their collaboration, in the July, 2008 Issue.
Several, similar period pieces will be on display through Summer, 2009.
